Bright Eyes
My husband is going to kill me.  I couldn’t resist this picture.  You can see he doesn’t have to worry about sleep or his “bright eyes.”   Men have it so easy.

I hate getting the dark circles and puffiness under my eyes which seems to be getting worse as I get older. The biggest culprit?   What else….Sleep or lack of.  It’s crazy how sleep can affect so much of our day-to-day life and activity.  I realize I need to start really watching how much I sleep.  I have never been a nap person but it might not be such a bad idea.

The second culprit is hydration.  Sounds like I’ve heard both of these before…”Get plenty of sleep and drink lots of water.”  They go together.  What I read is that sleep allows the body time to redistribute water and can make your skin brighter and healthier.  Not having the rest time and hydration interfers with blood flow, which in turn makes your blood vessels dilate, creating that purple or blue shade under your eyes.

But what if you can’t get in enough sleep.  Here’s some tips.

#1:  Of course, my first tip is some amazing essential oils.  Everyone is different and it takes time to find what works for you.   I can take that time with you if you want to give it a try.

#2:  Tea Time:   Apply chilled tea bags over closed eyes.   It will provide an antioxidant boost, a boost of caffeine, stimulate blood circulation and shrink your blood vessels.

#3:  Secret Serums:  You want to get an eye serum that includes vitamins A, C, and E.  Also, try some with the hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen and elastin.  I also take collagen daily for overall skin health.

#4:  Concealer:   Here’s a tip on concealers.  Since dark circles tend to be bluish-gray, try a concealer color that is opposite on the color wheel.  If you’re fair skinned, try a light to medium shade of peach. If you are medium to dark skin, try a deeper orange color. It's also important to match your concealer or foundation to the jawline, not the cheek area.
